Francisco J. Burgos was born
in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He studied Classical guitar with Demetrio
Ballesteros at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Madrid, Spain where he
graduated with Honors. He made his New York City
Classical Guitar debut Concert at Carnegie Recital Hall. While in
Spain, where he lived for 11 years, he enrolled in master classes given by
guitarists Jose Tomas, Jose Luis Rodrigo as well as private instruction
with ancient music guitarist Jorge Fresno. From 1981 to 1982 he took
classes at the Juilliard School of Music in New York City. He has lived in
USA since 1986. While living in USA he has given many concerts to critical
acclaim. He has performed in main venues such as the Organizations of
American States in Washington, D.C., the Americas Society in New York
City, Gusman Performing Arts Center, Miami, Florida, Broward Center for
the Performing Arts. Fort Lauderdale, FL and throughout USA Amongst many
other venues. He has numerous presentations to his credits in Radio and
Television in USA and abroad. As a teacher he has taught Classical Guitar
at the Avila Conservatory, Avila, Spain and at Glassboro State College in
New Jersey and has been invited by several universities for concerts and
to offer master classes, lectures and residencies. In addition to
performing music by other composers he also performs his own compositions.
Three of his guitar compositions are included in his CD “Rhapsody”. His
most immediate project, to be completed in the near future is an
instructional video (DVD) for learning how to play classical guitar. The
Classical guitar video lessons will have 43 original lessons and 15 pieces
by various composers like Bach, Tarrega, Carulli, Sor, etc. plus several
original guitar compositions by Francisco Burgos. The guitar lessons on
video are posted on this web site already. You can

all the classical guitar Lessons online by becoming a subscriber. The idea
behind this web site is to create an interactive space for any body
interested in the different aspects of the classical guitar: From
interpretation to compositions. As of August, 2007,
